We would like to inform you that the Call for EANM Young Investigators Meeting (YIM) 2013 is now open.
The YIM is scheduled for July 17-18 at the EANM Executive Secretariat in Vienna. The topic is "Multimodality Imaging of the Painful Arthroplasty".
Who can apply?
Age limit: 33 years or under
The candidate is in an early stage of ongoing research or writing the project proposal pertaining to the topic " Multimodality Imaging of the Painful Arthroplasty". The paper must not be finalized and not be published before the meeting - this has to be confirmed by signature of the candidate The candidate is EANM Member, member of the respective National Society and from a country recognized by the Council of Europe He/she has to be able to give his/her presentation in English How can I apply?

EUROPEAN BOARD OF NUCLEAR MEDICINE EXAMINATION |

Comunicamos la celebración en el año 2013 de examenes EBNM.
The European Board of Nuclear Medicine Examination, which leads to the European Fellowship, is organized by the UEMS/EBNM Fellowship Committee. It proves that the candidate’s knowledge and ability in Nuclear Medicine satisfy European standards. The European quality recognition is optional and does not interfere with the national requirements for specialization in Nuclear Medicine.

Aproximadamente cada segundo paciente de cáncer de próstata sufre recidivas después de habérsele extirpado quirúrgicamente la próstata o de haber sido objeto de una radioterapia. Los exámenes bioquímicos rutinarios proporcionan una alarma prematura pero no proporcionan información acerca de la localización, ni tampoco en cuanto a la extensión del cáncer recurrente.
Los hallazgos más recientes muestran que las técnicas de adquisición de imágenes moleculares vienen a suplir esta laguna y permiten una precisa planificación en cuanto al tratamiento más adecuado, afirma el Profesor Bernd Krause, un experto de la Asociación Europea de Medicina Nuclear (EANM). |

La cardiología nuclear: herramientas para evitar una evolución mortal de arteriopatías coronarias |

Las tasas de mortalidad por arteriopatía coronaria (CAD, por su sigla inglesa) registrarían un aumento significativo sin la ayuda de la cardiología nuclear, toda vez que esta técnica de diagnóstico por imagen sirve para identificar trastornos cardíacos que el electrocardiograma no permite detectar. Los avances prometedores de las innovadoras técnicas de imagen molecular permitirán comprender mejor los mecanismos biológicos de las enfermedades cardíacas, según la Asociación Europea de Medicina Nuclear (EANM).

¿Qué es la medicina nuclear? |

Mucha gente asocia este término, medicina nuclear, con una radiación peligrosa. Se trata de una asociación sin fundamento. Aunque es cierto que se utilizan sustancias radioactivas, las dosis a las que se expone al paciente, según la Asociación Europea de Medicina Nuclear (EANM), son tan bajas que no pueden llevar a cuestionar las ventajas diagnósticas y terapéuticas que aporta la medicina nuclear. |
